sealing around line sets
OK and then what do you guys use to seal effectually the line fix where it comes out of the foundation? I run it through a piece of vinyl gutter downspout as the sleeve for protection and and then use articulate silicone but was wondering if at that place is something that would look a petty nicer.
Thanks for the suggestions

Downwardly here we have to utilize a SCH 40 PVC sleeve thru any exterior wall per Code.
I seal the PVC with expanding course or Silicone caulk usually, around the exterior edge of the pvc and within to seal information technology.

We too use a lot of 2" sch 40 pvc, silicone around line set up and mortar around pvc. Sometimes quarters are too tight and I prefer to make the pigsty equally pocket-size as possible and utilise a lot of silicone (pain in the butt to remove later but information technology seals nicely)

Don't think I've ever bothered taking a picture of the wall penetration. Gauge I'll try to remember adjacent fourth dimension I do an air conditioning.

sealing effectually line sets
I use dynaflex 230 black or grayness. Information technology stays pliable but forms a peachy bail with everything. Nifty for sealing line set up penetrations.
I don't have annihilation better than this movie. The grey isn't my favorite, but it's all I had with me the day I gear up this condenser.

In Washington nosotros are REQUIRED to utilise Titan boots now. Information technology looks really nice and it seals the penetration up well. Hither's a link:

Here's another movie of the dynaflex in use. I used black this time.

On my mini split installs, I employ duct seal (the clay similar stuff) effectually the lineset, condensate line and cable, this is always inside the line hide and out of site. It stays pliable and can exist removed easily if need exist, information technology is easy to force around the tubes and wires. Gives a excellent seal.
Never a trouble with it.

2 tubes on each chore? That sound excessive unless your using a 20 lb sledge to make the holes. 2 5/8 core flake in a rotary hammer or a couple smacks with a hammer through cake of you tin find the correct spot shouldn't take ii tubes to seal unless your filing the unabridged block.

Nosotros employ 2 ane/two electrical PVC on new construction.
